Make 2018 A Lush One: 5 Lush Products To Kick Start Your New Year ♡

Hello and a happy 2018 to you~ I hope you had a great Christmas and started the year off well. I'm currently home on Christmas Holiday from uni, meaning I finally have a bath!! I find baths so relaxing, a great excuse to wind down and take a moment for myself. And of course, what is a bath without some kind of Lush product?! So I figured I would gather a few Lush products that I think anyone should be going into the new year with!!

SLEEPY BODY LOTION

This Sleepy body lotion is a lifesaver for any of you sleep deprived cuties !! It's part of the 'Twilight' scent collection and has a gorgeous pastel purple colour. It has the most relaxing scent, predominantly made up of lavender. This product hasn't got the name Sleepy for no reason, it is a wonderful addition to anyone's nighttime routine. You just take a small amount and rub it into your skin. Not only does it help you sleep but it also moisturises as well, double bonus !! The new year calls for a better chance for sleep, and this is just the product for it. For a small tub its £7.95, and a little goes a long way.

TWILIGHT BATH BOMB

Another product from the 'Twilight' range, meaning its another that has a calming and relaxing result. Lush is known for their bath products, especially their bath bombs, so of course I had to include one on this list. Now I'm a new user of the Twilight bath bomb, but I am completely in love with it. It gives off the most gorgeous pastel swirls, as well as a scent that is just the embodiment of relaxation, everything I want from my bath time. The bath bomb costs £3.95 and is available all year round, a perfect Lush product to kick off your new year.

LEMONY FLUTTER

I know that when the new year comes around, one of the things I aim to do is get my nails healthy and strong. Lemony Flutter is a cuticle butter that is perfect for getting nails into a great condition, and smells fantastic. As the product title suggests, it has a lemon scent which is nice and fresh, perfect for a new year. A little goes a long way and definitely has positive results. You can get a tub from Lush for £7.50.

THE COMFORTER BUBBLE BAR

This product is for the times you want to treat yourself but you're also keeping an eye on your cash. The Lush bubble bars are perfect for creating beautiful and delicious smelling baths, and the best thing about them is you can use them for more than one bath. I can easily get my bubble bars to last for at least 4 baths, while still creating plenty of bubbles.  The Comforter gives off a fresh and fruity smell which is not too overpowering. As well as the heaps of bubbles, it also creates a pretty pink colour in the bath. The Comforter is a go to bubble bar available all year round, and costs £4.95.

BUBBLEGUM LIP SCRUB

Last but not least is one of Lush's lip scrubs. The Bubblegum Lip Scrub was one of the first non-bath Lush products that I purchased, and I have loved it ever since. Entering the new year, sadly in England, you're faced with the cold weather of winter which can bring many things, one of which is dry, chapped lips. Not fun. This however fixes that, a quick scrub with this and your lips are left feeling soft, as well as tasting sweet. The small pot lasts a long time, and only costs £5.95.

Primark tips and tricks ♪

Ah yes September, the start of autumnal clothes and big coats, not to mention summer sales, a busy period for Primark (but yet again is there ever a quiet season when it comes to Primark?) As much as I love Primark, boy do I dread going there some days. Chaos is a light term when describing it sometimes. But despite all that, there is a reason why Primark is so popular. It's a blooming good shop with some absolute steals. And this is why I'm going to give you all my tips and tricks I have acquired through past experience to help you make the most of your time at Primark♡

BE EARLY 

I know this can be a struggle sometimes, but if you're wanting to make the most of your shop, it's key. If you know before you leave for the shops that you'll want a serious mooch around Primark, then aim for opening time. It'll be virtually empty, giving you a more enjoyable shop and a chance to shop the whole of the store. Plus all the stock will be neatly presented, it's a win-win. This tip is handy for choosing what day to go as well, the earlier in the week the better (I know not everyone has this choice, but when the opportunity comes, take it.) 

MAKE IT YOUR FIRST STOP

There's nothing worse than going into Primark with bags and bags of shopping and struggling to get anything done, I can hardly handle carrying one of their Primark baskets while trying to browse without feeling like I'm gonna knock a stand over and create a domino effect within the store. Heading here first not only means no bags, but it also means a clear head, something vital when going to Primark.

IF YOU SEE IT GRAB IT, EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT SOLD 

Okay, okay, this might be controversial but if you spy something you want while you're looking just grab it. My reasoning behind this is things tend to just go without a trace, they just disappear leaving you to think what could've been. How you combat this is you pick it up, continue to browse, and once you're done you revisit your finds and decide what you do and don't really need. A foolproof plan, you can't go wrong.

CHECK THE SEASON

This lil trick is something I found and boy was I chuffed with myself aha. There's nothing worse than seeing something one day in Primark, coming back shortly after and it being gone forever. However, to get an idea of when items might be making an exit, take a look at its label. Here you'll find two letters and two numbers referencing the season and year (this year you'll spot SS17 or AW17) giving you an insight as to what collection this is part of. After finding this out, I spend my time searching the labels getting this information and giving me a better idea of the products in store.

SIZING - CHECK AND THEN CHECK AGAIN

They say you only ever make the same mistake once, this does not apply when it comes to picking up the wrong size in Primark because of the hanger. Primark clothes are notorious for being on the wrong hanger, leading to a big disappointment when your buys are brought home and they're not the size you wanted. The way you fix this, check the price tag but more importantly the stitched label inside to make sure the size is what you want.
